Bye Week

Its week 9, the halfway point in the season and the Vikings get a the week off prepare for the rest of the season starting with a rematch against their rivals the undefeated Green Bay Packers on Monday night. Monday night will be a tough game but after that the rest of the Vikings season looks to have some very winnable games including games against the Oakland Raiders, Washington Redskins and the Denver Broncos who are all either .500 or below. Sadly however even if the Vikings go undefeated the rest of the season finishing with a record of 10 and 6 it is still highly unlikely that theyll make the playoffs this year.  The Packers and the Lions will most likely still have better records and lets face it the Vikings will be lucky to win half of the remaining games. Things are looking up for them though it would seem that the Vikings quarterback search could be over with promising performances from rookie quarterback Chritian Ponder the last few weeks.  Now the Vikings can go into the 2012 Draft to address their other needs like a better secondary which has been a weak spot in their defense for years. They could also get a new defensive tackle to replace Pat Williams who retired after last season leaving a big hole in the Vikings defensive line. Jared Allen is having a great year leading the league in sacks with 12.5. Last game he set a franchise record for most consecutive games with at least one sack.  Its been an up and down year so far and lets face it mostly down but anything can happen the rest of the seasons and the Vikings playoff hopes may still be alive.

  1. The only things I don't understand are the stats (.500 and 12.5). What exactly do those numbers mean? But overall, you did another good job at getting to the point while giving the needed information.
