Season Wrap Up

The last four weeks have been rough to say the least for the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings went 0 for 4 losing close games the Raiders, Falcons, Broncos, and Lions extending their losing streak to 5 games in a row giving them a less than stellar record of 2-11. Part of the problem was the absense of all pro running back Adrian Peterson who is still out with an ankle injury. The sad thing is that they had a chance to win all three games. Three weeks in a row they have made a great comeback in the fourth quarter only to blow it with an interception or in this weeks game a fumble on the one yard line with ten seconds left and with them about to tie the game. I cant really say i was suprised. The rest of the season doesnt look any easier the last three games the Vikings play the Saints, the Redskins, and the Bears with both the Bears and the Saints being playoff contenders. With only three games left in the season the Vikings have no chance at making the playoffs or even getting third in the division.  In my opinion they should just lose the rest of their games on purpose which would give them a better pick in the 2012 Draft.  The way the draft works is the teams with the worst record in the previous season get the first picks. So hypothetically if the Vikings finish with a record of 2-14 they would almost certainly have a top five pick maybe even the first pick overall. They definately have some holes to fill in their lineup and some good draft picks could definitely help. Either way it was a season to forget for Purple and Gold fans everywhere.
